Mental health is a topic we are all familiar with, as we all have mental health, but it is often very misunderstood. Onward hopes to correct this issue by providing bite sized pieces of mental health information that are quick and easy to pick up. This week we will take a look at the first symptom of Major Depressive Disorder, loss of interest or pleasure in activities We will look at how it is defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition by the American Psychiatric Association which is used to diagnose MDD. If you or someone you know is experiencing a loss of interest or pleasure in activities, give us a call at the Onward Counseling Center and we may be able to help.
Note: In the final slide Dazard shouts, Anhedonia, which is the technical term for loss of interest or pleasure in activities.
